- Whisk egg yolks lightly.
- In a saucepan, mix table cream, milk, sugar and vanilla.
- Bring gently up just to boil.
- Pour into egg yolks while stirring constantly.
- Return to saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until custard thickens enough just to coat the back of the spoon.
- Pour into bowl and serve hot, warm or cool.
